The Apology
Directed by Tiffany Hsiung
Description
Almost seventy years have passed since Grandma Gil, Grandma Cao, and Grandma Adela were freed from sexual slavery. In The Apology, we hear from these women who have lived for decades in silence and shame. Now they are finally able to speak about their experiences as 'comfort women' at the hands of the Japanese Imperial Army before and during World War II.
Followed by a discussion moderated by Nayani Thiyagarajah (Writer/Producer/Director) with the filmmaker Tiffany Hsiung.
