Description
The "ABCs of Book Banning" was nominated for a 2024 Best Short Documentary. The film opens with 101 year old Grace Lin arriving at a Florida school board meeting, where she passionately advocates for the return of titles such as “The Diary of Anne Frank” to the local schools. The only adult in the film, featured on camera are children between the ages of 7 and 15.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Margaret Atwood, Mme. Adrienne Clarkson, John Ralston Saul (in person) and Ambassador to the United Nations Bob Rae, Salman Rushdie, Sheila Nevins and Grace Lin (via Zoom).
